AI and Global Expansion: A Look Back at 2025
A year of AI capability building, global market entry, and recognised excellence.
In 2025, Woongjin IT focused on establishing AI as a practical, deployable tool across business operations, not a concept to be explored, but a capability to be built and applied. Alongside this, the company took decisive steps into the global market, anchored by the establishment of Woongjin Asia in Malaysia. The year closed with a strong set of awards and client recognitions that validated the direction taken.
Throughout 2025, Woongjin IT took a structured, end-to-end approach to AI: beginning with the data foundations that make AI possible, moving through internal automation and customer-facing AICC deployments, and culminating in a company-wide programme to build AI fluency across every team and function.
The year combined external-facing seminars and conferences with internal participation programmes, simultaneously building Woongjin's credibility as an AI specialist and its practical capacity to deliver.
Data Activation Strategy Seminar for AI Adoption
Woongjin co-hosted a seminar with Microsoft Korea and Dimoa, presenting practical data optimisation strategies for enterprises preparing to adopt AI. Sessions covered Azure OpenAI Service for accelerating decision-making and Microsoft Fabric for integrated data management, giving IT leaders a concrete roadmap for AI readiness before the technology itself is deployed.
Event Summary
Held on 20 March at HJ Business Centre, Seoul. The seminar addressed the critical data infrastructure steps that must precede AI adoption, covering data governance, integration pipelines, and operational readiness. Targeted at enterprise IT managers and data strategists considering AI transformation.
World IT Show 2025: AI Woongsu Unveiled
At World IT Show 2025, Woongjin publicly introduced AI Woongsu, its proprietary enterprise AI solution built on HyperCLOVA X and integrated with the Woongjin internal groupware platform Workthrough. Woongsu demonstrated real-world business applications including meeting room recommendations, document search, regulation lookups, and approval process guidance, all powered by internal data with no external exposure risk. Woongjin also showcased its AICC platform in partnership with AWS, featuring Amazon Bedrock-powered chatbots, real-time call analysis, and automated post-call summarisation.
Event Summary
AI Woongsu was presented as a practical enterprise AI tool, going beyond a simple chatbot to support entire business workflows. The showcase positioned Woongjin as a company that implements AI as a genuine operational tool rather than a conceptual product, drawing strong interest from enterprise visitors at the exhibition.
KCCM 2025: AICC Strategy Presented to Industry Leaders
Woongjin participated in the 24th Korea Channel and Communication Conference (KCCM) at Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas, presenting a dedicated session titled "Adding AI to the Customer Experience." Executive Director Lim Yeon-je shared Woongjin's approach to building cloud-based AICC systems incorporating voice bots, chatbots, real-time STT, multilingual translation, and automated call summarisation, all developed in-house and designed around the practical realities of contact centre operations.
Event Summary
Conference theme: "Synergistic CX: Bridging the Gap, People and AI." Woongjin operated both a session stage and an exhibition booth, allowing visitors to experience live AICC capabilities firsthand. The session emphasised that Woongjin's AICC is built from real operational experience, not third-party integrations, giving it a distinct advantage in deployment quality and agent-centric design.
2025 AI Runner Challenge: Company-Wide Hackathon with AWS
Woongjin held its first-ever company-wide AI hackathon, the 2025 AI Runner Challenge, in partnership with AWS Korea. A total of 29 teams and 107 employees participated over one month, competing across four tracks: customer support and communication automation, business and document process automation, data and systems operations automation, and AI enhancement of Woongjin's own solutions (WDMS and WRMS).
Event Summary
Standout projects included an AI grievance counselling and risk visualisation system, an AI-powered ERP financial analysis tool, a multilingual VOC system enabling one Korean-language manual to serve global customers, and an automated structured interview question generator. Participants received hands-on generative AI training and consulting from AWS Korea. Selected ideas are being reviewed for real-world deployment within Woongjin's product and service portfolio.

2025 was the year Woongjin IT moved from exploring global potential to building a permanent global presence. Starting with CES 2025 in Las Vegas, where two solutions were showcased on the world's largest technology stage, the company then formalised its Southeast Asian ambitions with the establishment of Woongjin Asia Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia.
The goal is not simply to export products. It is to bring the IT capabilities and solutions proven in Korea into new markets as a fully operational, locally grounded business.
CES 2025: Two Solutions on the World Stage
Woongjin IT participated in CES 2025 in Las Vegas from 7 to 10 January, showcasing both WRMS, the rental management solution trusted by leading Korean enterprises, and WDMS, the Woongjin Digital Mobility Solution making its CES debut. Unlike the previous year where only WRMS was presented, 2025 marked the first time both solutions were exhibited side by side, reflecting the company's broadening technology portfolio and growing global ambitions.
